Instructions
This java applet uses the CARLA to find the maximum of the cost equation given
below over the range x from -3 to 3 and y from -3 to 3. Displayed in yellow are probability density
functions for the x and y parameters. These are initially uniform distributions. Pressing the start button resets the
distribution to a uniform distribution and runs the learning algorithm. The probability density functions will
gradually converge to Gaussian distributions around the global minima with little change occuring beyond 2000 iterations.
The function is multi-modal with a global maximum at x=-0.0062 y=1.5809. A three dimensional plot of the function is
